Central Air Conditioners
Central air conditioning units must be connected to PPCS’
load
management system to qualify for rebates. Air conditioning units are
cycled under PPCS’
cycled air
conditioning
program. Residential unit performance is measured as Seasonal Energy
Efficiency Ratio (SEER). Commercial units are rated with an Energy
Efficiency Ratio (EER).
Cycled
Air Conditioning Rebate:
A one-time rebate is available when an existing air conditioning unit
not currently under load management is connected to PPCS’ load
management system.
Room Air Conditioners
Room air conditioner must be an ENERGY STAR qualified model. These
units are not connected to PPCS’
load
management system or cycled under PPCS’

Heat Pumps

Air-source or ground-source heat pumps must be connected to PPCS’

management system to qualify for rebates.
Air-source heat pump performance is measured as Seasonal Energy
Efficiency Ratio (SEER). Ground-source units are 300 percent efficient
and are rated with an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER). There is no EER
requirement to qualify for this rebate.

Electric Thermal Storage
(ETS) Units

units or central heating systems are 100 percent efficient. If connected
to PPCS’

system, these units convert electricity to heat during
off-peak hours. The heat is stored and distributed throughout your home
as needed all day. This type of system may qualify for off-peak electric
rates.

water heaters during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 8
a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The current service call rate will apply.

and light emitting diodes (LEDs) in place of standard incandescent
lamps.
It’s also important to recycle and properly dispose of CFLs. Refer to

local recycling and disposal locations.

the market. They must meet or exceed strict energy efficiency criteria
set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the U.S. Department

Rebate offers
members who want to recycle their old, energy-guzzling refrigerators or
freezers an incentive to help them offset the cost of proper disposal.
To qualify, a
receipt will be required from the recycling center indicating the unit
was in working order and has been recycled in an environmentally safe
manner. These requirements will be verified by the cooperative if the
member is recycling the unit through Pierce Pepin Appliance.

Customized Business
Incentives
Agricultural–Commercial–Industrial
Customized incentives are available for energy efficient equipment
and/or efficiency upgrades in new and existing facilities.
Incentives are capped at no more than 20 percent of the cost of the
equipment, not to exceed $10,000 per member account per year.

Renewable energy site assessments will help eligible agricultural
producers and rural commercial and industrial business owners determine
whether their location is a feasible site for solar electric, solar
thermal or a wind electric system.
Site
Assessment Incentive:
A 75% discount off the cost of a renewable energy site assessment. The
member will be billed for 25% of the total cost. Cooperative will
perform a preliminary survey of the project upon receipt of the
Renewable Energy Site Assessment Screening Form. (PDF)
