Cycled Air Conditioning Program
Air conditioning units under load management are “cycled” on 15 minutes and off 15 minutes during periods when the demand for electricity is high. This is typically during extremely hot or humid days.

The compressor for the unit is interrupted but the blower continues to circulate air. Cycling is rarely noticeable if units are properly sized and maintained.

Cycled Air Conditioning Program Rebate is available when an existing central air conditioning unit is connected to PPCS’ load management system. Lower electric rates do not apply.

Room Air Conditioners
ENERGY STAR qualified room air conditioners use at least 10 percent less energy than conventional models. Proper sizing is important for achieving maximum efficiency. A rebate is available for an ENERGY STAR qualified model.

Room air conditioners are not under load management.  Lower electric rates do not apply.
