Check Your Tank
The amount of propane used varies significantly due to weather conditions or changes within a household. Such things as a room addition, an increase in the use of a fireplace or space heater, changes in the number of people in a household, or possibly the use of a dual-fuel heating system can make a difference. Making sure you have propane when you need it is our priority. Let us know when you make any changes that could affect your propane use.

It’s also a good idea to check your propane tank now and then, especially during the winter months. If the gauge falls below 20 percent, contact us immediately so we can schedule a delivery.

Reading your gas gauge

Your gas gauge is located under the dome at the top of the tank. Black numbers encircle the gauge with a single pointer needle. The pointer indicates a number that represents a percentage.

Due to the physical properties of propane, your tank is considered full at 80% (allowing for the expansion of propane vapor). A propane tank is in immediate need of refilling at 20%. For your safety and protection, it is best to fill your tank before the gauge goes below 20%.

Use the following chart to determine how many gallons of propane you have in your tank.
