Trees and Power Lines
Temporary power disconnection
For safety reasons, it may be necessary to disconnect your power
temporarily if a tree being pruned or removed is too close to your
home’s service wires. If so, you will be notified when the
disconnection is expected to take place and about how long it will
last.
Sometimes a property owner wants to do some tree pruning or removal
on their own or hire a private contractor. In such cases where the
tree work takes place near electric lines and equipment, safety
guidelines may require that power be disconnected until the work is
completed. To request a temporary disconnection, please contact us
at 800-924-2133 or by
e-mail
at least three to five business days in advance.
